Abby’s Eyes

Abby’s Eyes. In the middle of tossing her ball all over the back yard, Abby stopped and looked at me with such a serious expression. Perfect timing – she is always moving and it is hard to capture a good shot.

Abby is a rescue dog. We adopted her when she was 6 months old. Because she was feral when she was found, we had our hands full for a while. She was very active and for a while very nervous. But our other Border Collie rescue – Kenzy – helped her adapt, all the while being very jealous.

I say everyday that Abby is very thankful we adopted her. She is a complete love-bug, always ready and able to sneak in some kisses. Socializing Abby and enrolling in training classes was the key. She knows her boundaries and that helps give her confidence.

If you are considering getting a dog, please consider rescues. The dogs need loving and supportive families, and adopting them will provide what they need. It keeps them out of shelters and it gives them a second chance.
